Doorways to Hope started in the Seattle, Washington area as a small group of Christian friends who share a passion for helping our world’s orphans and the families who are willing to give them a home. One of our goals is to engage the younger generations through a variety of popular media in order to personalize for them the plight of children in countries all over the world and encourage them to make a difference in the world regardless of their age.
Mission
“To enable local Christian families to bring orphans into their homes through foster care and adoption by providing material resources and ongoing support.”
In order to meet this mission statement, Doorways to Hope partners with already existing organizations within the nation of focus that demonstrate values and a consistent record or projects that align with the Doorways to Hope mission statement. Through our donors and volunteers, we provide the financial, material, administrative, emotional and spiritual support to achieve project goals that result in more orphans living in a loving family environment.

Projects
During 2009, Doorways to Hope partnered with Mercy Ministries to complete the construction of a home in the small town of Lunova, Russia. This house is equipped to provide a comfortable home for up to twenty two children and three sets of foster/adoptive parents. In addition to the Lunova house, Doorways to Hope provided funds to assist with the expansion of the Shkurikin’s family house in Vladimir, Russia. (The Shkurikin’s currently have eight adopted/foster children in addition to their natural children and hope to adopt more).
In 2010 Doorways to Hope will partner with two organizations in Ukraine, Pilgrim and Slavyansk, on a variety of projects that will support local families in their calling to adopt or foster children without homes.
