Natalya's Story

After working with orphans for many years and reaching the point of burnout, Natalya attended one of our HFEO training events and got the refreshing she needed:
This conference was essential for our ministry. Through the years, we have not had support from anyone as we worked with orphans. We often ran up against apathy and misunderstanding, even from believers! This was very hurtful to us, and made it hard for us to move forward to where God was calling us. At this conference, we received affirmation in our ministry! We met many people who are moving forward and were willing to share with us their invaluable experience and knowledge. We finally received the support we have needed! Today we are moving with new strength, new ideas, and new contacts. And finally, we know that we are not alone."

Sasha's Story

At 15 years old, Sasha could neither read or write-- he had never been to school, and had been living on the streets since age 5.
However, Sasha's future changed when Gennady, one of the members of A Home for Every Orphan, found him on the streets and took him into his family. Gennady and his wife Elena have 10 foster children living with them and their three biologic children in their home in Mariupol, Ukraine. This year Sasha has been in school for the first time in his life, and has learned to read and write and do basic math. Even more importantly, he has learned what it means to have a family.

Ira's Story

Ira and her husband were the second family in their entire region to take in foster children. They felt so alone in the battle against cultural stigma.
They felt alone, that is, until, 4 years ago, Ira attended a conference put on by HFEO partner the CoMission for Children at Risk. At the conference, Ira received the encouragement she needed to return to her home region and spearhead a movement of adoption and foster care that has flourished. In Ira's region alone, today over 100 children live in adoption and foster families. What incredible things God has done in only 4 years!
